This is a fantastic activity for mothers and their children to do together. My almost 4-year-old had a lot of fun dipping the strawberries in the chocolate. She had a great time! I felt the same way!
This is a perfect recipe for making desert with kids!
Make the chocolate covered strawberries that are not stick to the plate 🙂
Ingredients
Fresh medium-large strawberries around 18ct
Semisweet chocolate chips or white vanilla baking chips – 1/2 to 1 Cup
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Steps
- Gently rinse strawberries and let it dry on a rack, or dry them with paper towels. Please make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping.
- Fill a 1-quart pot halfway with boiling water. In a pot, bring the water to a boil and then reduce to a low heat setting. In a heat-resistant bowl, combine the chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Place the bowl on top of the pot with care. The bowl’s diameter should be greater than the heat pan’s diameter, so that it sits on top of the pot without touching the bottom. Continuously whisk the chocolate chunks. until it’s entirely melted, Remove the pan from the heat.
- Dip the bottom half of each strawberry into the chocolate mixture, allowing the excess to drip back into the saucepan. Place on a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until chocolate is solid, or until ready to serve, uncovered. Refrigerate coated chocolate to prevent it from softening (if made with oil, chocolate will soften more quickly at room temperature).
Enjoy!!
